Wenesday afternoon baking fever!!

This afternoon I was taken over by a cooking fever, which hadn’t happen for a while. I only did two recipes, but I hadn’t run out of both flour and powdered sugar, I’m afraid I would have went on and on.

I first made a marble cake, as I had been a tad bit unhappy with the one I made last time : it had turned out a bit dry and denser than I like them. So this time, I put a little more baking powder than in the recipe I use, and let it cook more slowly. It ended just well! Moist and light and just the good amount of the chocolate part too, so as to be sickeningly sweet.

My mother ate two , and said it was “quite good”, which is the equivalent to a star in the Michelin book to me.

Then, I made apricot muffins, but had to adapt quite a bit the recipe. I was running low on certain things, wanted to use fresh apricot as we had just got them instead of dried ones, and had to make them milk and better-free so as to be able to give to my cousin that I see tomorrow for dinner. I was a bit afraid of the results, but in the end they turned out quite tasty! Plus I made a delicious icing with some orange-and-exotic-fruits juice, which was frankly fantastic. A pity I made too much, I had to finish it up with a spoon… Hey, I just don’t like wasting things! (especially delicious ones…)

(no subject)

Well, I’ve watched the mid-season episode of Doctor Who this afternoon and decided to wait a bit before posting, because WAW, that was something… I didn’t see the 40 first minutes go by, and then… And then, two minutes before the end, I began to understood and it was… terrific!

I mean to realize that… that River really is…

Spoilers!!! No kidding, really, I mean real SPOILERS!! )

Oh, and here is an update on my Naruto bag. I’ll try to find the courage to begin Sasu-chan tonight, but it seems rather unlikely… Too tired for that!

Ninja bags!

Hi no one! Here are my latest projects : twin bags, one orange and one marine blue, that I’ll be turning in – respectively – Naruto and Sasuke bags!

My best friend and I each have got a set of Naruto and Sasuke t-shirts from UNIQLO. I bought them in Tokyo last winter, not knowing that they would appear in the Parisian store a month later, which makes them a little less exclusive but never mind! Assorted t shirts of one of our favorite love/hate couples, as they say in the advertising, it’s priceless!

So yeah, I got this couple of bags a year ago or so, given by Mommy dearest who had received them as a free gift, but didn’t quite know what to make of them. I don’t really like this form of bag, for one, they're a bit too big or a bit too small depending on my needs, and orange is not exactly my color. But now, I think they’ll be great accessories to our t shirts as we stroll through Japan Expo or any other anime convention. Take that, Naruto-haters!

In addition to drawings of our shinobi wonders, I’d like to add a few things, such as a kunai pouch on one and a ninja star on the other, badges, a couple of bells... and I found an old chinese astral talisman sporting a snake, so that it'll defini
By the way (or not at all), my Foolish doll got mentioned in the latest entry of Mrs Hobb’s blog. Succeeded in not having a new panic attack nor bragging to any friends and fellow fans. Only told it to my mother, who asked me if I was talking about my voodoo doll project… Ah, supportive parents…

Jobs details #1

I’m currently experiencing doubts as to what I should do in the future… I’d like to think it’s not too late for that, I’m still a student after all, and I’ve just seen so many depressing examples of bad career orientation this year that I would like to avoid mistakes – or at least try too.

The problem is: it’s all a bit dramatic. Your parents asking you : what do you want to do with your life? Yourself trying to be witty by quoting Cindy Lauper (‘Have fun?”) and ending up sounding quite vain…

I have yesterday ended up on the “pole emploi” website, where they those thousands of very unhelpful pages detailing each and every job you can think of, each one more boring than the last.

So I’ve decided to make my own.

Enjoy. (And this so not influenced by the fact that DW is going on hiatus till September..)
